WE ARE ABLE
This series I did to capture the essence of those with disabilities in Memphis in 2012. So often, people with disabilities are portrayed with bright, childish Crayola colors that paint a sense of vulnerability and innocence onto a lived experience that is very complex. By restricting myself to black and white and giving my subjects their own stage, I am showing the intensity of the burden of having a disability while revealing the dignity and grace of these "broken".
